Because the Torah is the foundation for all truth. We believe Yeshua is the Living Torah, who is also called the Truth. The very truths and revelations concerning the Messiah, and the hope that we have in Him, have their primary foundation and total support from the Torah. Since the Messiah lacks nothing in doing what is true and right, we believe the Torah lacks nothing in teaching what is true and right. It is clear to us that the entire Torah describes the Messiah, and therefore one will find the gospel, His halakha, His doctrines, His theology, His teaching, and that is His truth, on every page of it. In places where we do not reference the Torah, we will reference the Neviim (Prophets) or the Ketuvim (Writings, which also include the writings of the talmidim - disciples of Yeshua); but usually because the related Torah passages may be obscure or require a whole article in and of themselves to explain the connection.
