Orthodox Jewish Conversion: Esther 8:17 and 9:27
What the LXX translators understood happened in Esther 8:17, was the very same concept Paul was warning his Galatian disciples against in Galatians 2. If one believes Paul was warning his Galatian disciples against Jewish conversion, then one must also believe the LXX translators were describing that Jewish conversion was happening in Esther 8:17. If one calls it Jewish conversion in Galatians 2, then one must agree that the LXX translators would have called it conversion in Esther 8:17.

Orthodox Conversion: A Biblical Perspective
There are several Rabbis in the Messianic movement who have high levels of smichah, but they are scattered and isolated. I believe that we need to be uniting these leaders so that they can form a Beit Din to oversee the conversion process within a believing community, so that those who are seeking conversion out of proper motives can do it without denying their faith.

Aveinu (The Our Father, The Lord’s Prayer)
The Aveinu, also known as The Lord’s Prayer, is the prayer of our rabbi, Messiah Yeshua ben Yoseph shel Netzaret. When his disciples asked him to teach them how to pray, they weren’t necessarily asking him to teach them the mechanics of prayer, more than asking what is his prayer at the conclusion of the Amidah / Shimonei Esrei (18 Benedictions).

Head Coverings
According to the Torah, is a man commanded to wear a kippah or other head covering? Is a woman commanded to wear a head covering? If we are to be ready to “guard” the commandments of G-d, then yes, wearing a head covering is part of fulfilling that mitzvah to be on guard to do G-d’s commandments concerning head coverings.

What is Chametz? (It’s not Yeast)
Chametz is any food that contains wheat, barley, oats, spelt, or rye that has fermented. These particular grains will ferment by themselves in the presence of water. This process can begin in as little as 18 minutes. Obvious foods such as breads, cakes, pastries, pasta, cookies, crackers, pretzels, breaded foods, etc. must be consumed or disposed of before Pesach. However, as we are not permitted to consume, derive a benefit from or possess any chametz we need to look a bit further.

Jewish Conversion: From Abram to Abraham
Wednesday, October 28th, 2009
Where is Jewish Conversion found? In how Abram became Abraham. We learn from Torah that conversion to Judaism is a confirmation of an already existing reality: that one is already Jewish before they come to convert.
